The “Kitakyusyu / Shimonoseki District University Athletic Meet” is held by 16 participating universities in the Kitakyusyu and Shimonoseki District University Sports Association in charge of 16 sports for the purpose of mutual friendship between universities through sports. Okayama University is in charge of the karate competition, and the Spring Games were held on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at Shimonoseki City University Gymnasium (SDS Driving Arena).

　On the day of the event, six universities participated, and three boys from the Karatedo Club of Kyushu University. In addition, while teaching the seniors of the Federation of OBs who rushed as referees, the members other than the players also played a role in setting up the venue and proceeding, and all of them worked together to run the tournament.

　The main results of the university's players are as follows.

・Winner of men's group Kumite winner Shimonoseki City University

・3rd place men's individual kumite Shirakawa (3rd year in Department of International Commerce)

　This tournament is scheduled to be held in the fall of this year, and it is expected that the Karatedo Club will continue to play an active role.
