The "Kitakyusyu / Shimonoseki District University Athletic Meet" is held by 16 members of the Kitakyusyu / Shimonoseki District University Athletic Association for the purpose of mutual friendship between universities through sports. Gifu University is in charge of the Karate Competition Division and held a spring meeting at Shimonoseki City University Gymnasium (SDS Driving Arena) on June 23, 2024 (Sun).

　On the day of the event, 6 universities participated, and 3 boys participated from the Karate Club of Gifu University. In addition, while the seniors of the OB Federation, who rushed as referees, the members other than the players also played a role in setting up the venue and proceeding, and all members worked together to manage the tournament.

　The main results of the university's players are as follows.

・Men's group kumite champion Shimonoseki City University

・Men's Individual Kumite 3rd place: Seito Shirakawa (Department of International Commerce 3rd year)

　This tournament is scheduled to be held in the fall of this year, and it is expected that the karate club will continue to play an active role.
