On September 26, 2024 (Thursday), a disaster drill was conducted.

Under the guidance of Shimonoseki City Kita Fire Department staff, about 160 people, including students, faculty and staff, and local residents, participated in disaster drills.

The firefighting team and the evacuation guidance team rushed to the fire alarmfire incident on the 4th floor of Building II, and conducted initial firefighting and evacuation guidance. In addition, a self-defense fire brigade composed of TUFS staff took on their duties, such as guiding students in the building to the square in front of the bulletin board in front of the main building II in evacuation site, transporting injured persons and providing first aid measures.

After that, firefighters explained the use of water fire extinguishers and indoor fire hydrants, and conducted fire drills and water discharge drills outdoors.

A comment from Shimonoseki Kita Fire Department staff mentioned that the system should be further strengthened, such as examining ways to identify students on campus so that there is no delay in escape.
