On February 7, 2024, the 2nd Leadership Training was held.
Leadership training is held twice a year for representatives and executives of student groups (Alumni Association Executive Department, Athletic Association, Cultural Association, Circle, etc.) to learn about what is necessary for running club activities.
In the second session, a lecturer was invited from Shimonoseki City Kita Fire Station to conduct an "emergency lifesaving course". . For three hours in the course, they learned how to use AED, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, transportation, and first aid for injuries and fractures.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation was divided into six groups and actually performed using dolls. I was surprised that chest compressions for two minutes in a row require more physical strength than I imagined. The earlier the start of life-saving treatment from cardiopulmonary arrest, the higher the chance of life-saving. It has been found that it is important to promptly take primary lifesaving measures before the ambulance arrives. He also taught me how to give first aid in the event of a fracture using a nearby magazine or umbrella. I was able to gain the knowledge and experience to be able to respond appropriately without panic when I encounter a sudden accident in my daily life.
After the course, a certificate of completion was handed to each student, which was a meaningful course for the students.
Thank you to the Shimonoseki City Kita Fire Station who came in the snow on the day.
