The 2nd Leadership Training was held on February 7 (Fri) in 2024.
Leadership training is conducted twice a year for representatives and executives of student groups (Alumni Association Executive Department, Sports Association, Cultural Association, Circle, etc.) to learn about the contents necessary for running club activities.
The second time, a lecturer was invited from the Shimonoseki City North Fire Department to conduct an "emergency lifesaving course". During the course, I learned how to use AED, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, transportation, and first aid in injuries and fractures for three hours.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation was divided into six groups, and was actually performed using dolls. I was surprised that the chest compressions for two consecutive minutes required more physical strength than I imagined. The sooner the life-saving treatment starts from cardiopulmonary arrest, the more likely the life-saving is. It was found that it was important to promptly take primary lifesaving measures before the ambulance arrived. In addition, he taught me how to first aid in the event of a fracture using a nearby magazine or umbrella. In the event of a sudden accident in the daily life of students, I was able to gain knowledge and experience so that I could respond appropriately without panic.
After the course, a certificate of completion was handed to each student, making it a meaningful course for the students.
Thank you to the Shimonoseki City North Fire Station who came in the snow on the day.
