On December 6, 2014, at the Karato Satellite Campus, an open lecture entitled “Policy Trends in School Education and Regional Relations: From the Perspective of ‘Creating Schools with Local Communities’” was held.

Associate Professor AMANO Kaori, who is in charge of teaching courses at OIST, talked about the introduction of “Community Schools”, changes in “School Evaluation Guidelines”, “School Support Regional Headquarters”, etc., as well as a lecture outlined the postwar school education system. Participants received opinions based on their own local activities and questions about the situation of the "Community School" in Shimonoseki City, and were able to exchange lively opinions.
