Participated in Yamaguchi Future Ishinjuku ("Development Camp)

Yamaguchi Mirai Ishinjuku (Human Resource Development Project sponsored by Yamaguchi Prefecture) was held at Suisanso (Yamaguchi City) on August 21 (Wed) and 22 (Thu), 2019, with 6 students from Okayama University (including 2 international students).

After lectures by George Aida (co-representative Zero One Booster Co., Ltd.), Tomomasa Oikawa (Representative Director of Agricultural Research Institute, Inc.) and Shunsuke Ushida (Representative Director of Habatak Co., Ltd.), Mr. Oikawa and Mr. Tsugumasa Muraoka A dialogue session with the governor of Yamaguchi Prefecture was held. The students asked the instructor and the governor with the pre-learning conducted from July to August, as well as ideas and questions based on the lectures. Both the instructors and the governor took the time to respond carefully to the student's questions one by one, and also received advice and encouragement in the future. In particular, the students gave advice such as "First of all, it is important to actually try what you find interesting (you often don't know if you don't do so)" and "It's important to enjoy the present while practicing the real thing" I guess.

It was impressive that each student was talking hard about what he was thinking now. It seemed that the story was not exhausted, and at the dinner and exchange meeting, discussions with the governor, lecturers, and students from other schools were blossoming. I would like students to interact with many people and come into contact with diverse values. In the future, we plan to conduct on-site surveys based on the discussions at this training camp and form ideas. I hope that you will enjoy learning while exploring various things.

Thank you very much to all the people involved.

Yuya Sato (Associate Professor, Basic Education and Liberal Arts Education)
